On t his day last year, I decided I needed to lose some weight. My goal was 30 pounds, and in a hurry, because long term diets have never worked for me previously. Now that I’m in my 40s, I thought it’s ridiculous I can manage a little more self control. The 30 has turned into 65, down to a nice (less) round 200.
I went with keto, because a friend has had strong success with it for a couple years. I traversed multiple ‘phases’ of it; struggling to control urges, measuring every ingredient, eventually locking into an easy flow, and now no longer keto, just a general low carb, high exercise diet.
I also got serious about running, going from a very plodding few miles a week to a solid 15 a week at a consistent 9 minute/mile pace.
When the first 30 came quick, I upped my goal to 80 by the end if 2019. With 15 pounds and ~6 months left, I think I’ve got a solid chance, but there are a few roadblocks coming up, so it’ll be no cake, er make that avocado walk.
I know there are a few others here on keto, and it definitely produces results, long term health impacts aside. If you’re a chronic fatass looking to turn it around I’d recommend it.

65 is a good thing to get rid of

If you still have that opinion at age 35 I’ll certainly donate all the fat you want. I was 115 at 18 and am somewhere between 185 and 215 now. Same eating habits.

I’m pretty good up about 30 lbs and then the job stress gets me again. I’m reshaping things to continue, but I try to meter out my exercise a bit more as too much makes me ravenous. Good to hear of your success.

Oh son, I can hook you UP.
Though hopefully in a year I won’t be able to anymore, because I’m about to try to get back on the weight loss horse.

Very impressive!

That’s impressive, great work! I’m really happy around 185 but have bumped up to 200 right now and my eating habits are about 100% to blame. At 44 no matter the amount of exercise I get I can’t eat like I was 25 years old.

The way metabolism changes is criminal.
Thinking back on how I lived in my twenties, abd what that would do to me now, I’m not sure if I'd be 400 pounds from eating whole pizzas, or 100 pounds from the alcohol poisoning.

I used to eat and entire container of Ben and Jerry’s in one sitting and I couldn’t get heavier than 170!

Don’t worry you will be fat in 15 years.

Good job. I’m at about 25 pounds lost over three months. No sugar, no flour, no between meal snacks. I thought pizza and pasta would be rough, but no.
